God is in the smallest of details. God says he will never leave us or forsake us and I believe that means for every step we take, He is there.
I (Julie) have been going through some minor medical testing. It is never fun, but for me, it can be even more annoying as my veins tend to collapse and roll each time the medical staff attempts to take blood. It’s always been that way for me. So, for the second time in a week, I had to prepare to have my blood drawn. I so hoped they would get a vein on the first try without having to dig for it. I also hoped the vein would hold while they filled the numerous vials needed. About halfway through the blood slowed down to a trickle and the medical technician said, “I hope we can get enough out and not have to try another vein.”
I shut my eyes and prayed, “Lord, please open this vein and allow the blood to flow so they can do all the tests needed.” A few seconds later the blood started flowing quickly down the tube… much faster than “my” normal. The technician said, “I don’t know what happened, there must have been an air bubble or something.” I said, “I know what happened; I was praying.” The young lady didn’t respond, but I could see she was processing my words. I don’t know why God led me to pray and then share my petition for His help in the little things. Maybe it helped plant a seed in the young lady, or maybe it was too keep my faith muscles toned.
Regardless, I knew God had interceded and allowed the blood to flow freely when it looked like the vein was collapsing. He is always with us and cares about even the minor details of life. If He cares enough to move in the small things, how much more can we experience His care in the big things of life? Trust Him in each step of your journey. He is right there waiting for you to turn to Him. By doing so, our faith and that of those around us can grow and multiply.
Mat 7:7: “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
